Older programs are near the end of the list. Mack Lyon Series Mack Lyon, a fine gospel preacher who has been a television preacher for over twenty years, is the speaker in this series of programs. He is seen on 82 TV stations and over 100 cable outlets. He is heard on hundreds of radio stations in U.S. and abroad and is an excellent speaker and teacher, quiet, refined and convincing. Paul on Mars Hill - Tape # 904 There are 17 lessons in this series that examine every aspect of the Apostle Paul and his visit to Athens (Acts 17:16). Mack shows how this single sermon summarizes the heart of the Christian age. He makes modern day applications of this sermon. You will be startled at how modern and usable these lessons are. This will be a series you will be happy to bring your friends to see. This series is excellent for ladies class or evening service and dignified enough for any service. "Our Restoration Heritage" - Tape # 706 In this program Dr. Humble visits many of the places where significant events occurred in the early days of the Restoration effort in Ireland, Scotland and America. He helps us understand the contribution many have made to our having a restored New Testament church. "Bible Lands" - Tape # 707 This program is shot on site in the Holy Land and shows us where significant events occurred. "Light From Above" - Tape # 708 This video deals with the roots of Alexander Campbell, his growth and conviction arising from his disciplined study of the Bible. The author shows how Campbell got his insight and understanding about restoring the New Testament church. The program reiterates the principle of the restored church. "Archeology and the Bible" - Tape # 709 This tape includes eight lessons that verify the Bible story in light of historical discoveries, based on archeology. We have seen some success from this program here and it is likely to offer you some opportunities to reach out. "Personal Evangelism One" by Bobby Bates - Tape #207 This is a set of four tapes, with three lessons on each of tapes 1-3 and two lessons on tape number four. (A total of 11 lessons.) We would loan the tapes in sequence. This is a detailed series on teaching the fundamentals of our Christian faith. The method makes use of "Back to the Bible" booklets. Information for securing the booklets is included. This would make an excellent tool for teaching the average member to do personal work. "Personal Evangelism Two" by Bobby Bates - Tape #207A This is a set of three tapes with three lessons per tape. This study is best suited for the advanced Bible student. The process requires a fairly thorough knowledge of the "proof texts" we often use in our evangelistic efforts. The systematic approach found in this series has proven very successful in personal evangelism efforts. We would loan these tapes in sequence. We will probably interview those who request this series in order to determine the appropriateness of their application. "Let’s Grow Again" by Harvey Childress - Tape #208 Harvey Childress discusses ways churches can stimulate growth even after years of decline. This single lesson offers some interesting ideas about our attitude of growth. "The Life & Work of Preachers" by Harvey Childress - Tape #101 Harvey Childress teaches these two lessons on the life and work of preachers based on his 56 years of experience as a local preacher. Harvey grew up and was trained in Texas, but much of his experience was gained in doing local work in mission fields in the U.S. Harvey worked successfully with five different local churches. In each case the church experienced significant growth and became self-supporting. These lessons should prove valuable to preachers and leaders in small and medium sized churches. "Preparation and Delivery of Sermons" by Robert Oglesby - Tape #102 Robert Oglesby, pulpit minister for the Waterview church for over 30 years, teaches these two lessons on preparation and delivery. Robert analyzes the structure of a sermon using a homely example that is not only useful but memorable. These lessons are targeted for those who are aspiring to preach or who want to upgrade their preaching effort. These lessons illustrate the structure and content of a sermon. "Vision" by Harvey Childress - Tape #103 This 17-minute lesson by Harvey Childress is designed to recapture the vision of the early church who evangelized the world in one generation. The intent is to stimulate evangelistic fervor in the church today. This is an excellent lesson to start any personal work or outreach effort in the local church, or a one-time lesson for ladies Bible class or evening services. "Effective Communication" - Tape #104 This is a basic lesson on communication. It is designed to draw attention to the fact that the better we communicate the more effective we will be in teaching the preaching the truth. A companion lesson would be tape 106. "Make the Message Plain (NLP)" by John Crowder - Tape #106 John Crowder explores the principles of NLP in communication. This five-lesson series explores techniques that make use of the three main channels (visual, auditory, feelings) in our communication. Although this series is targeted for NLP in teaching, the information is useful in any communication setting. NLP stands for Neuro Linguistic Programming, a discipline that deals with communication channels and methods. It highlights visuals, auditory and kinesthetic systems.
